What is RPE and how do I fill it in?

Modified on Wed, 22 Jun, 2022 at 11:06 AM

After training or testing, you may be asked to fill in this vital bit of info. Find out how.

RPE or rating of perceived exertion is a scale that is used subjectively to judge how hard a person is finding an exercise/task.

The scale is on a 1 to 10 basis with 1 being very easy and 10 being your maximal effort. Whilst using the app you will be asked to enter your RPE after certain exercises or sessions.

If completed accurately it is a great measure of training load, working above a 7 RPE for an entire session multiple times per week may end up causing excessive fatigue and injury.

Your coach will ask you to fill in your RPE after some sessions and this can be found in your calendar event.

Here is what an RPE form looks like that you will be filling in post-session. Basically, your coach will want to know how difficult you found the session as a whole out of 10.

There is a coloured guide to help. Just use the slider on the left-hand side to move to the appropriate position.

Then click next and you will have the opportunity to make some comments about the session for your coach to be notified of. This is optional of course.

Finally, click submit and you have filled in your RPE form!
