Using Drilling Arrows

Use drilling arrows to view your data in finer detail or at a higher level to spot trends and view the bigger picture.

Drilling Arrows

Straight Up Arrow: This shows a higher level of information, if you are looking at a specific athlete, drilling up will show the group or if you are looking at a single day, drilling up will show a week or month. See it as widening the funnel.

Straight Down Arrow: Clicking this arrow once will shade it black. Once switched on you can click on a specific piece of information to move one layer lower. Using the example below, clicking '1st Team' with the arrow shaded black will open the box to show you all members of the 1st Team.

Simply click the up arrow to return to the previous page.

Double Straight Arrows: Moves one layer lower in the hierarchy. This acts similarly to the above however it moves a layer deeper for all metrics, the double straight arrows from the team view would show you the scores of all members of all teams.

Expand and Down Arrows: These arrows are used when you want to open every layer of the data in one, most often used when viewing date information. It can also be used if you have athletes in multiple groups, above which is showing you each athlete it will show you their group membership and name. Perhaps an athlete has recently moved up to the 1st Team from the 2nd Team, expanding will allow you to compare their best score during their time in both groups.

Its date use is explained below. Here we have a year of squad wellness scores, with one data point per week.

Clicking on a week with the single down arrow highlighted will open up details of one week. Shown below

The double-down arrows have moved down by one layer, showing the average wellness for each day of the week for the whole year. Useful but not helping us with the broad picture.

Whereas the expand and down (in the red box) opens up every weekly result across the whole time scale. It is still highlighted black, indicating there is another layer to reach.

With one more click, we are down to showing the exact scores for each day. Simply click the up arrow to return one layer higher.
