How does my MVP profile work?

S2 - 1

Your MVP profile is a record of your achievements. Think of it as your athletic passport that you can use in conjunction with other evidence like grades etc to prove your ability and show the fantastic progress you are making.

Through your school/club/team certain data is being collected that will help you to accelerate your development. This data lives in your profile for you to see at all times and is available to benchmark, monitor progress and even get some great free resources from (maybe a training program for your sport).

Your profile is with you for as long as you want it to be, so if you move from a school to a University or club you will be able to transfer it across to further continue your development.

How does the scouting work?

When we say scouting, it is just a term we use to describe the connections we have with national governing bodies (like the organisation that runs your favourite sport), accredited sports teams, universities and schools.

While you are developing your MVP athletic passport by you and your school/club/team using it every day to monitor your performance, you are building up information that might evidence your potential to take your ability further.

That is where the connections with schools, universities, colleges in the USA, professional sports teams and academies and national sporting governing bodies come in.

Your potential may be exactly what they are looking for, and by working with us to find you via anonymised data to keep you safe (for example a national governing body may be looking for a sprinter who can run the 100m under a certain time) we can facilitate a conversation.

This works by the accredited and validated scouting partner contacting you to ask for a connection to take it to the next steps. You can accept or decline this as you wish. If you accept you can always break that connection at a later date. Read more here

You have complete control and they will only ever see anonymised data.

Will my profile be visible for everyone to see?

Simple answer...Only if you want it to be.

When you set up your account you were given the option to make your profile visible (or public) or invisible (private).

You can update your preferences on your setting page as below by clicking on the settings cog > profile tab and then the button which you can toggle between private and public.

A public profile will give you the ability to connect with people, and a private means that you will never show up in any searches for messaging or "scouting".

Can I opt out of everything and just use my profile personally?

Yes, you can! All you need to do is follow the steps here and you will never be contacted by anyone.

You also have the option of having a completely free and unconnected account that you can just use as you wish. Just break the connection between you and the institutes you have a connection with by following the steps here

How do I know that the scouts are real and trustworthy?

MVP only ever works with national governing bodies, accredited schools and universities and professional teams of a certain standard.

We enter into a contract with these organisations and have a full vetting process in place to ensure that anyone on MVP Analytics is safe and secure. You can read more about our community guidelines here.

What do the scouts see?

Any full accredited and vetted scouts will only ever see anonymised data until you accept a connection for them to contact you to take things further.

Essentially the "scouts" will be searching our database for raw data. Things like height, weight, vertical jump height, MVP ranking etc.

These are the metrics people will use to pick out talented athletes and will be visible unless you opt out and make your profile private

Will I be receiving messages and emails?

As part of your account and its connection with the organisation that potentially invited you to create a profile, you may receive INTERNAL messages from your coach.

For things like general admin, meeting times etc. You will only ever receive messages from people you have specifically accepted a connection request, and you will only get connection requests if your profile is public.
