A few pointers on how to get set up with your MVP Analytics account.
As an athlete, you will receive a completely free profile that will hold all your results and other information so you can work towards unlocking your potential.
You may have been invited to join as an athlete from your school, club, team or organisation or you may have just set up your own free profile.
Either way, you will go through a brief "onboarding" (a fancy way of saying setting up your account) that helps you to get going.
There are just a couple of tasks to complete
- Signing up
- Adding a profile image
- Writing a bio
- Completing some further information
- Accepting and managing invitations
Signing up
If you have received an invitation from an organisation or coach to join them and you don't yet have an account then simply click the link in the mail you will have received. This will then take you to the first step of onboarding which is to create a password, and username and then validate your account.
Choose a username that you can easily remember as this username can be used to log in regardless of any email changes. Also, choose a strong password. We will give you guidance on this on this page but try not to make it easy like your name plus 1234!
After you have completed that just log in using those credentials. You can use either your username or email address.
Adding a profile image
This is a chance to personalise your account, getting it ready for the opportunities that are down the line for you now that you are a part of MVP!
Your profile will be the window into your athletic ability, so step one is to choose a profile pic. It is very simple to do. Just upload an image that best represents you (we recommend something sporty like an action shot) and that's it! As long as you have that image file on your computer or on your phone you are good to go!
If you want your profile to be public and available in searches from scouts and more then remember to keep your profile image appropriate and please be aware that any images that are not suitable will result in your profile being deleted.
Writing a bio
By writing a comprehensive bio that showcases your talents you will be well on your way to a successful MVP'er! You will notice that there is plenty of text space so feel free to make it as long as you would like but remember that something factual, interesting and impactful will always go down well.
Here is a good example from an athlete who plays a high level of basketball.
"I am a strong guard and have a deadly 3 point shot and also a mid-range jump shot. I am lighting quick and can handle the ball very well. I have great athleticism and am a natural leader on the court. I also have great speed on the open court. I am a hard nose defender with solid lockdown defence, great court vision and can handle the ball under pressure. I am a smart player while under pressure or in close game situations."
You can adjust your biography on your settings page at any time.
Completing some further information
During your onboarding, we will ask a few questions about you that will help us to provide a better service to you. Fill these out as best you can.
If you are a parent then please note that these questions are about the account holder (ie) the athlete, so please fill it in as appropriate.
Accepting and managing invitations
By accepting the invite email from an organisation you have effectively created a "link" between you. At any time you are able to delete that link from the organisation on your settings page.
If you delete the link to the organisation or coach, they will no longer have access to any of your data and will NOT be able to work with you on MVP Analytics anymore so please think carefully before deleting it. If you are going to another team with MVP Analytics, you can just simply create a new link to them to allow collaboration on your account.
