Using sample data.

We understand that when you first come into a product that is built for data analytics, you need data to see how it all works!

So we have created a sample set of data that you can use to take a look around and see how your account might look after a few weeks of using MVP Analytics.

You can access the sample data simply from any page by clicking the button below.

It will then automatically populate your home page, calendar and analytics with cool sample data (anonymised from our database). You can turn this off to return it to your account by unselecting it at any time.

Getting your athletes and staff into the system

This is a crucial step if you didn't manage it during onboarding.

During the onboarding process, we have a simple way to get athletes into your system, ready for adding data to and managing on a day-to-day basis. It is as simple as adding their name and email addresses either by manually typing in the details as below or if you have an excel or CSV file then you can upload it here too.

Organise Your Groups

Groups are an immensely powerful tool when used effectively. You can create groups on the settings page.

Groups are useful for inviting a large number of athletes to an event in one click rather than selecting them all individually. A lot of MVP's analytics capabilities work well with groups and make bigger picture analytics easier.

Setting up your first event

Once you have logged in and gone through onboarding, invited your athletes, and created the groups you need (both athletes and staff) you are ready to take the next step!

Creating events (events is a term we use to describe testing days, questionnaires, RPEs, social days, training and matches) is simple, all you need to do is head over to the little calendar icon as below.

Home-MVP-Analytics (22)

Then you just fill out the simple form, choosing the name of your event, the event type, the time and the duration.

On the next page, you can choose questionnaires, RPEs, test type, location and any event notes.

Finally, just invite the athletes and staff you would like to attend the event.

By inviting athletes and staff to an event they will be notified of the event via email and via the notifications in the app.

Setting repeat events

You will likely have events that repeat (like a team meeting), so to save you time creating events over and over, just use the repeat event feature to save you even more time.

On the event creation page click the "repeat event" toggle then fill in the details as suits. As you can see below, we selected a repeat event that repeats every 4 weeks on a Tuesday until the end of June.

You can combine this with event reminders to make your logistics and communications simple and quick.

Inviting athletes and coaches/staff to your events

MVP's calendar system allows an organisation to centralise all their training sessions and more. We use a notification system that sends alerts to individuals, groups, and teams telling them that they are required at an event.

To easily manage this during event creation just use the select attendee's feature and add individual athletes, groups of athletes, and the same for coaches/staff. Just select from the dropdown.

Wellness questionnaires

You can delve a little deeper into questionnaires in this article here but essentially what we are trying to achieve with wellness is to get an insight into how your athletes are feeling when you are not face to face with them.

There are lots of different types of wellness questionnaires that we have created for you and you can choose the questions to include, their order and more by customising them to suit your own requirements.

Once you have collected all that great information you can then get a good picture of what the squad wellness is like using standard deviation to ensure that wellness is monitored correctly.

Guidance in the portal. What do "i's" and "?'s" mean?

In very basic terms

? = A knowledge base article like this one

i = Either further text pointers when you roll over them OR a gif that helps you to get the right support at the right time.

Sample data

We have included anonymised data from events we have run over the years and made it available to you with just one click of a button.

Analytics-Athlete-Analytics-MVP-Analytics (12)

Once you have clicked this button your dashboards will populate with the data so you can check out what MVP Analytics can do for you once your portal is fully up and running with thousands of great data points.

It will also populate your calendar with a fairly typical week's training so you can check that out too!

Once you unclick it...the data will safely return to yours so you can continue with your analysis.

Exporting to Excel

As a coach, you may want to play around with the data yourself, and we have you covered there.

All you need to do is to navigate to the dashboard/table you would like to export, then click on the three dots on the top right-hand side of the table.

Once you click that you will see the option to export.
